what motor to swap into an EM1?
what's up HT? I recently picked up an EM1 from a friend who recently ran into some financial trouble. car is pretty clean, has a straight body, needs some work, but I don't mind. I would really like to restore it to it's OEM form. The only problem is that it has a D16Y8 engine as it was previously stolen and the owner before him just threw it in as a cheap alternative. I was just asking for some feedback if I should throw in a B16a2 as it was the motor that came with it, or a GSR, B20, or any alternatives? I have read the forums, but was just asking for some quick feedback. pros and cons would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

j32 yO.. I seriously would just go K series. Look around at the engine spec.s for each of the K series and decide off that which you would like better, as there are plenty to choose from. Also, look up head swaps and the such for the K series motors as quite a few options in that area as well to look over. K is the new better bigger B series platform these days.

Someone went through the trouble of swapping in a D series motor into a 99-00 Civic Si? I can only imagine the level of help that car needs!

I would go LS Vtec with a mild motor build, P30 pistons, refreshed GSR head, ITR cams and springs, good IHE and a tuning will be very fast and fun to drive. Or you can go with a B18C1 or B18C Type R swap.
