What to look for when buying a hybrid?

I'm looking at a few civics 92-95 most with GSR swaps. Anyone have any suggestions on what to look out for? The hardest part about buying a car already done is you never know how many miles are really on the engine.

first, make sure t doens't have a stolen motor. Ask for all the recietps/paper work. Whenever you are buying a hybrid honda, you know that the car has been beaten/abused. No one would change their motors for any otehr reason.

make sure that there are no cels! NO CELS! chances are they messd the car up and were to lazy to fix so they pawnd off the problem to someone else!
also look for poor quality parts and poor worksmanship!
also the motor not being stolen would be good too! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

why are you putting a turbo in? Just to have more power? makes 100% sense.... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

Ok so i'll know if the car is throwing codes cause the check engine light will be on right. How do you check if it's a stolen motor, I assume it has a VIN on it somewhere? Also, what's up with the search function lately, it sucks.
