Run the highest octane you can get your hands on. 93 all the way and i would even add some octane booster every now and then just to keep it clean. You will have alot of pinging (detonation) if you run 89 or lower, also bad perfromance.

2.75 on maui for 92 octane, and it's the only thing I put in my car...
Question, do ALL jdm swaps require high octane? What about jdm d16's? B series aren't the only jdm swaps out there...

i never run that 87 gas/water. its not the best on the motor. and especially since the c5 has high comp, you might get some knockin and pingin if you run low octane. so i suggest 93. its worth the money. gas is on the ries tho, 2.19 for 89-90 octane here in cincy ohio.

I run 93 octane at all times in my Honda, from the old swap to the new one, but I also have a chipped ECU so it's fairly necessary, but now that I think about it, gas is different in the land of the rising sun, they are used to running on higher octane, I believe that 91 is their low grade and 95 may be the high (never been there just seems I've heard this).

that couldn't have been the gas. my friend has a b16 swap and runs it on 87. runs fine. i have another friend that has a gsr swap and runs it on 89. personally i put 89 in to my stock vx just because no matter what car i had it always saw at least 89. once i am swapped though, i do plan on running 93, but only because i will be boosting in the future.

how do you figure it wasnt once i put like 4 bottles of octane booster it was fine? i dont see how your gonna tell me no its not that ...and yea your friend is really smart for running 87 in his b16 i bet you he will notice a night and day difference when he goes to premium octane

I've seen many people run b16's b18c's and such on low octane, most engines are fine with this fuel, some engines may get cranky over it, it's just hard to say.
