What header for H22/EK Swap and Catalytic/Cat-Delete Style?
My car is a 1997 EK Hatchback. I've been seeking out an answer to this question for quite some time now, with no real results. I don't want to spend money until I get a sure solution, so I apologize for wasting anyones time with my question, I used search and couldn't find my answers, so I decided to make a thread to start a discussion.
I live in texas and my inspection is out at the end of september 2012. The original owner of my car didn't have a cat on the car, just a test pipe, so it wont pass inspection, resulting in a ticket. I will either put on a high-flow cat or a hallowed out cat or racing purposes
The other issue however is my header has a leak it in from scraping on the ground, was like that when I bought the car. Currently the car has an H22A4 motor swap in it. I would like to take care of both of these issues at the same time, but my budget is also limited (I have to eat and pay rent right? but i need a car at the same time). The current header is strange because it goes from a 2-bolt flange on the 2-1 downpipe to another 2-bolt flange on the test pipe (both ends) instead of the standard 3-bolt to 2-bolt for civic, or 3-bolt to 3-bolt for prelude.
My question is... I would like a cat, or similar that I can bolt up and bolt off as needed, I want it to fit my current design without having to get a complete new exhaust system. What header would you suggest for EK swap h22, that wouldnt require machine shop fabrication, but I would bolt up in my driveway myself?
Should I take some pictures of my underbelly?
