what h22 swaps need resistor box?
Sup everyone?,
As the title states I'm trying to findout what H22 swaps require resistor boxes.
So far from what I've found out is ;only pre- 97 engines with peak and hold injectors need the resistors
97 and up have saturated injectors so you don't need the resistors?
Is this true.
Here is my set up 99 dx harness, Obd2b to obd1 jumper ( no wiring fixes required) 98 engine, obd1 jdm p13 pcm.
I'm doing the last bit of research before I do my swap in a few weeks. I know
**** won't go right the first time but You gotta remember the six P's
Proper Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I got an answer, thanx!
sorry for cluttring the board

Re: what h22 swaps need resistor box? (909 Civic)
Yes its true. If your swap is obd1 h22 jdm or usdm then you'll need the resistor box because they are peak and hold injectors. If its obd2 swap then you dont need it because it comes with saturated injectors.

I've been searching and searching as to not get flamed...but i cannot find an answer that my setup falls into
I'm running a 98 OBD2 Civic witha 97 H22a
it's been converted to run an obd1ecu.
I have currently plugged in an obd1 p72..no resistor box is currently installed?
i know that if i am to get an obd1 p72 i need the box. but do i need one now?
thanks in advance

Re: what h22 swaps need resistor box? (RICDOGG)
You do not need one. Because regardless of the obd1 conversion you're still using the obd2 h22 injectors which are saturated. So you're fine.

what would happen if you didn't use a resistor box?? i'm asking because my buddy bougth a hatch thats already been swap and it didn't have a resistor box, but it seems to run fine. would any resistor box work or do i need one from a prelude only.
