what engine harness and ecu do i need for a 1999 civic hatch with an sir1 b16a
Ok so im new to the forum. First off i have a 1999 honda civic hatchback with a b16a sir1 engine in it. Ive searched and not many people have swapped an sir1 engine into 1999 civic, i have read its illegal but im not sure, either way i git the car for free :D. Anyways what im trying to figure out is what ecu and engine wiring harness would i need to get the car running right. Someone told me i would need the engine harness off of a 92-95 honda civic SOHC VTEC so i can run obd1 is this correct? And they also recommended the p28ecu. Please help i really need to get this car running as good as possible.

you have to use a 99-00 harness. nothing else will work. you will need to get wiring adapters or switch over to obd2 components.

the following information will work provided that you have the jdm b16 complete with it's original harness (for the plugs), intake manifold and distributor...you will need...
1...a 99-00 civic si engine harness
2...a P2T ecu
3...to bypass the ckf (crankshaft) sensor
4...to convert the obd0 distributor plug to obd2a
5...to either rewire the obd0 iat (intake air temperature) sensor plug to the obd2 engine harness iat sensor wiring or get an obd2 iat sensor that goes on the intake tube
6...to rewire your obd0 alternator plug to the obd2 alternator engine harness wiring
7...to rewire your obd2 injector wires to the obd0 injector wire plugs
...some other plugs might need to extended by simply removing the tape and loom
...if your engine did not come with a map sensor (which is more than likely the case) you will need to source a (firewall mounted) map sensor or a newer b series throttle body that has a (top mounted) map sensor

The obd0 distributor won't work with the P2T ECU or any OBD1/2 ecu for that matter. Same for the injectors unless you run a resistor box.
