what could put an h22 civic in to limp mode?
ok im doing a deal and getting an h22 powered hatch the car ran fine the he was, rewiring some thing, and something sparked, and it started running in limp mode, rev limit at like 5k and no vtec what would cause this, and more importantly how do i fix this?

Well you have to see what codes you are throwing. Then move on from there. Do you know how to check to see if your car is throwing a code?

thats what i thought, but he says he swaped it out and it works in the other car, ohh the car has a hondata if that makes a diff.

bump come on guys some has to have had this prob, the guy i got it from says he was rewiring the o2 sensor and some thing touched, then sparked, been running in limp mode since, he allready tryed to swap out the ecu but stays the same what else could it be?

I'm working on an accord and that same thing is happening to it right now.... along with that it is dumping ridiculious amounts of fuel when trying to start it (it won't start cuz of it).

one or more of your injector drivers on the ecus sound to be burned out. pop open the ECU and look in the upper/left corner for 3 inline transistors

If that happens, it'll still run but it'll sputter pretty bad, like it's missing. But if those fuel injectors transistors burn up, it's normally a pretty easy fix. We've been able to fix a couple of P72s, one P13, and a few P28s with the burned up FI transistors.

i dont think thats my prob, the car runs awsome pulls nice just cuts off at like 5500 and theres no vtec what would cause this? i dont think its the ecu cause i put it in my buddys b16hatch and it run good, r there any relays that could cause this and if so where are they?TIA
