what to buy with $300-400???
I have a little bit of money coming up. Really need that instant gratification...sooo, I want to buy something for my car. More into performance mods right now rather than anything else. But..I need an idea of what to buy. Help would be nice...here's what I've been looking at:
1. Skunk2 intake manifold w/ chipped P28
2. JDM 4-1 header
3. Lightened flywheel
4. Some sway bars/lower tie bars
Actually, that's basically it. I'm leaning towards the Skunk2 manifold...people say header though..
Opinions???
Here's my setup:
2000 hatch w/ B18C1. AEM, ACT, Apex N1 exhaust, OBD 1 GSR ECU.

I say headers... since you have the exhaust, let the B18C breathe like it should. Go headers. I prefer 4-2-1 though for the better midrange torque.

The lightened flywheell itself would be that much. Skunk2 intake it almost around 400 shipped and that would bottle neck your ride. You would have to port and polish the Head and Throttle body to make it useful enough. Forget the 4-1 header on that car go for 4-2-1 it would also be cheaper. What about some cam gears you could buy some and install them for that much. You would feel it right away. Suspension is a great idea as well, it will lower your reaction time at the strip and theres nothing like being thrown into the window of your car in a hard turn. Don't get juice till ya fully work your engines potential. Go N/A don't have to worry as much.

oh yeah..skunk2 manifold by far will make you a happy camper.
You'll like it & see its gains instantly.
BTW, you can have your OBD1 GSR ECU reprogrammed with the same exact Mugen program you'd find on a chipped P8 ECU. Hit me up if you need some reprogramming services
I say skunky manifold+cams+reprogram your P72 ECU, but thats a bit over $400...

man, i'm basically where you're at. i have a 90 civic si with a jdm b16a, aem intake, 5zigen fireball exhaust, and clutchmaster stage 1 clutch. i just got some civic type r cams to replace the crap b16 cams. after i get those in, i'm thinking bout an ecu. right now i have my friend's chipped pr3 ecu, and its just a generic program, but it makes a hell of a difference compared to the stock pr3. i'm looking to get a mugen clone pr3 ecu as the next mod after the cams...so yea, go with the ecu. but make sure you get to try it out before you actually buy it, otherwise you might not feel content with your mod.

The reason I'd go p28 is because the ECU that I'm running right now, isn't even mine. I either have to give it back or buy him a new one when his motor goes in...soooo, it seems more economical to do the manifold now and run a P28.
I'll most likely be heading your direction anyway Kat.

yeah, I just want to get rid of as soon as I can. I don't want him to finally put his motor in and say, "So, I'll take that ECU right about now."
you still going on Sat?

you can get the skunk2 intake manifold from http://www.jdmhondaparts.com for is it $300.00 bucks shipped?? i think it is. And i dont know how much a dyno session but maybe 100.00 you can get it tuned on the dyno. That will get you probably the most bang for your buck just the dyno tune alone. To get all your parts working together well... if you ask me anyways.
