Default Re: what about a gsr motor (99MiataTurbo)

get a turbo 13B rotary (from a 2nd gen rx7). they make around 200HP with stock boost. they can handle 400HP before needing to upgrade internals (rotors, stationary gear, apex seals, etc). the 13B was also designed for a traditional rear wheel tranny.

check out the tech sections of rx7club.com and fc3s-pro.com.

as for buying the motors themselves, check out thepartstrader.com. i think you will find a 13B to give you far more bang for your buck than an equivalently priced piston engine. rotaries are also a lot simpler mechanically. the motor itself only 7 independently moving parts (or something like that).

rx7club.com has some really knowledgable people (and a lot of jerks too). be sure to search the archives for all your questions before you post.

good luck.
