Default Weird problem (thinking ignition related see inside..)

Im out cruising around yesterday and as im going through an intersection the car sputters a bit and dies. the tach needle was going crazy and jumping all over the place so the first thing i think is dist. i manage to limp it into a business area where i popped the hood and saw nothing obvious. I had cleaned the engine bay with some spray the day before so i was thinking i got some moisture somewhere inside some connectors/dist. I check everything and everything was dry. I waited a while and drove the car home under 2k rpm it seemed fine. I took all the ignition stuff and used some stuff called 'gust' to dry it all out. Checked all the fuel lines, injectors and fpr for leaks and nothing. let the fan stay on the engine bay for about 1/2 hour and started right up, went for a spirited drive to about 7500rpm and everything was cool. Today i get in the car and drive around, everythings fine until about 20 miles into the day, the same damn thing happens again. The car will idle 'ok' but if i give it any gas, it sputters and wants to die. It wouldnt even start the last time i tried, though i didnt let it crank for long. OBD1 LS/vtec in a 92 VX Hatch using a p28 ECU w/ hondata s200. Any info or help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you....

I stated this before, but what has me thinking ignition is that the tach is all over the place. It will sputter and sputter upon initial startup but idle fine after 10-15 seconds until i give it gas, then it wants to die.

Did you check for spark and fuel?

A bouncing tach is usually a symptom of a bad igniter.

Fixed it. Just one wire was loose going to the ignitor.
