VSS woes... help peas
Ok...
this relates to hybrid in that we swapped a SiR-G B18C into my friends LS a couple weekends ago. today I was doing some work on it and I noticed there was a large bolt hanging out near the VSS. so, like a good boy scout that I am, I spent the necessary time to knock it in there and get it torqued down. in doing so, I decided to remove the VSS, however I didnt do so with the one bolt in the rear to remove it from the housing. I took the two upper 10mm nut/screws out and took the top peice of plastic out. I had to buy myself a couple inches to get my tool in there and get on that 17mm rear engine bracket. now I get the all typical no VTEC, 17 CEL (OBD1 P72J) and the speedo is dead. anyone have any input as to solving this issue besides the obvious which would be replacement? what does one go for?
thanks...
Mike
on a side note... his motor made 230-235psi across the row today on a comp test. pretty freaking good IMHO

well more likely sounds like u do need to replace the VSS. if the ECU doesn't know how fast ur going than NO VTEC. u could try to remove his old one out as 1 piece this time and check it out all it is pick up coil. could knocked a pin loose. but as for the price used and where from $20-50 avge. new Check with honda or acura dealer.
