vin # ques for legit swaps

ok, if one has a legit swap w/papers, what if u buy a new tranny w/o a vin number?? will i still get messed wit w/the cops, cops are quik to go check that vin number

hopefully somone knows, cause im about to buy a car w/a legit swap, but the tranny has no vin #, i could hear the cop already askin bout that, around hear there quick to pop ur hood
