Default V6 VTEC engine in a civic?!

I know nothing about cars, and I'm looking to buy my first. I'm looking at a 95 civic that has a V6 in it.. I know civics never offered six cylinder engines and probably for good reasons. I know it has upgraded lower suspension and brakes, but does that make this car safe? It sounds awesome, but I don't want it breaking down on me. Any information or insight would be greatly appreciated.

YOu need to ask the owner what has been done. These v6 swaps have options on just about everything, engine harness, ecu, mounts, axles.

Upgraded brakes sounds good - according to what was done.
Lowering the car is not good for anything except appearance.
It usually results in less suspension travel and other compromises.
Generally speaking that means less safe.

The v6 swap has some good info on this website.

J swaps are all over the place. As far as not wanting it breaking down on you, you get out what you put in. If you halfass any swap, doesn't matter if it's a D, B, H, J, 454, 502, magical fairy dust, or a freaking jet turbine, it'll **** on you in short order. Take the time, spend the money, do it right, and it'll last as long as anything can be expected to.

Lowering the car isn't good for anything except appearance? I know it's 4/20, so are you high, or are you just stupid?

So the v6 swap wasn't as far fetched as I had thought.. I'm expecting a call from the owner later on today so I'll see what all he did to it. I appreciate all your insight guys thank you. I don't know anything about cars and I couldn't really find any forums on this online, and obviously didn't search deep enough into this website, but I do appreciate it!

i tried googling " magical fairy dust Honda civic swap information" but didn't get any results. got any direct links?

as a electrical guy i would check the harnesses for no signs of melting or stress, chafing, bare wires, or electrical tape (or worse, wire nuts) electrical connections.
