Customers car eh?
You guys would never grind steel without protecting the interior in your own car would you?
Pictures of ground clearance will reveal how well the engine is really placed.
Removable rad support? You've removed the structure from the front of the car (replaced welds with bolts) and doubled the torque output of the engine... hmmm....

i hear you on the door panels!! but those panels were going to be tossed, he didnt care too much because he was replacing them, along with the rest of the interior.
well get pics up soon on the G/C
yes the rad support is removable, it is bolt in... along with the custom frame support under bars the we made for it also. Gacchiri supports are in the works also
i know there are questions on the radiator support but there are FWD cars that come factory with the support bolted in... EF's had the top support as bolt in?

Customers car/long time good friend. i really didnt want to refer him as a "customer" but he wanted to stay anonymous. he's not in it for the glory just being a lil different in the honda world.

Pinho is the only EG guy with his hood to close. There's a guy in Venezuela that has an EK he built 4 years ago and his hood closes. The EG is a shorter front end, so it's harder to fit the engine snug.
I will not allow my oil pan to sit closer to the ground than the rad support...therefor, mine sits out of the hood.

The other issue, aside from ground clearance, is axle issues. Hasport certainly could've lowered the mounting position, but didn't because of axle problems when the suspension compresses.
It doesn't strike me as amazing someone has gotten the position low enough to close the hood, but what has been sacrificed in order to do it? I find it hard to believe that Hasport, who's certainly leading the market in custom mounts, placed the motor up through the hood without exploring placing it lower at first and deciding against it.
