so i know what i need for a normal k20a2 swap but
the problem is
i have a 08 civic si ecu and i dont think i can kpro it?
so i guess i'll have to buy a type r ecu?
and i also heard the transmission is different?
who has done this and can give me more info + pix?

k20a.org is gonna be the place to look for all the info you need to do this swap i think your gonna need a tb to since the newer cars a fly by wire it think hope this helps you.

i know that i need a new throttle body, the spacer, the throttle cable.
i want to know which ecu i can run WITHOUT k pro. and what ecu is the best if i DO kpro.
and what solutions are there to use the k20z3 transmission.

Oh, I see. I don't believe too many K guys hang around the Hybrid forum, but good luck either man.

I think with the K20 you can use a K20A (ITR) ECU without KPro, but it would be horribly limited. You should just get something that is compatible with KPro and do it right the first time. I believe you can use the Hondata K Flash too if KPro is too expensive.

RotiEatter is correct you can use the type r ecu without kpro, and if you want kpro you can use either a base model rsx or type s ecu and even and ep3 one. Also your tranny uses a speed sensor that reads differently and hybrid racing makes a converter to correct that issue.

1) If you don't want a K-Pro you need to run a Type R ECU or AEM EMS. You should go K-Pro eventually. You can see a list of the K-Pro ECU's at the Hondata website. Don't feel you need to get a 6 speed ECU there are alternatives to the Reverse Lockout Solenoid output.
2) The engine and trans bolt in with the normal mount kits that work with the K20A and RSX tranny.
3) The transmission will need some help. For shifting you can use an 04 Accord shifter and cables with a custom bracket to hold the cables at the transmission, or the 06 Civic Si shifter and cables with a custom mount for the shift mechanism.
The Countershaft Speed Sensor is too quick pulsing for the speedometer, the cheapest fix is get the Dakota Digital Universal Speedometer Interface and adjust the signal to match the output you need. Or if you decide to get a K-Pro it can be handled internally. You can email me for details.
4) To use the RSX throttlebody you need an adapter, or you can use the 04 Accord throttlebody with some slight modification.

thanks brian g for the extra info! i never knew i could use the 04 accord throttlebody! i have the 08 civic si engine harness/charging harness. and other than the hybrid racing converter, what other ways can i use? i know that i can tap a hole in the tranny and put another sensor, is that hard? because i dont want to shell out another 300-400 bucks to buy the converter.
