Default Type R 5 lug swap

I am about to re-do a 5 lug conversion on a 99 civic hatch. I am curious to know if the proportioning valve and the booster make that much of a difference in brake performance. If so what proportioning valve do I need and how do you go about fabricating the break lines to the master cylinder. I had the set up on a 96 so I know it works without these two items. But does it make it noticably better? Thanks
