I want to go turbo on my h22a civic, but I am still in the process of swapping. I was planning on using an Accord tranny (budget reasons, long story). Would that type of tranny be okay for a 5-10 psi set-up?

Everyone I know (well, a total of 4 people) who are running turbo kits in their H22 Civics (with T3/T04 turbos), they're all using the stock Prelude tranny. They say traction is a little problem in 1st & 2nd gears, but on the highway, it pulls good in 4th and 5th gears (sounds just like my old turbo B20 setup w/GSR tranny..... LS tranny sucked IMO when in the higher gears). If I had a turbo on my H22, I'd leave the Prelude tranny on and go with that.

most people recommend the h23 tranny, but it depends....it's geared higher which is good if you wanna run 150mph, but not sure if it's worth the extra money if you already have the h22 tranny....and some of the h22a trannies have factory lsd and you'd have to ad that on an h23, and that could make a huge difference

The thing is I dont have a tranny right now nor have much money. I have easier (and cheaper) access to an accord tranny rather than a h22 or h23 tranny. I am not shooting for 150mph or anything, but I just want to make sure that its still going to pull good and not damage anything.

The best tranny is a euro accord type R, LSD and great gear ratios....they are hard to find though

what about a 2001 f23. I can get one of those, cheap. What do you think?

2001 f23? What is that out of? are you talking about an f20? that wont fit an h series....I dont even know if you can swap f and h series trannys, ive never heard of ir being done.....an f22 might fit but....?????

it should bolt up.....dunno bout the mounts though...which ones you'd use or whatever......but you could get an h23 tranny relatively cheap

The dude says its a f23 so i'll ask him what it came off from. It might some wierd model, but I hope it works!!!! I know all 94+ f-series trannies bolt right up to any h-series. so I dont see the difference between 2.2 and 2.3.?
