TSX k24a2 into EK civic hatch...
ok, i searched left and right and all i find is swaps of the k20a2 and k20a into all kinds of civics and integras.
i want to know if it is possible to put a k24a2 (TSX) into the ek hatch without too much custom fabrications. the k20a's are going into these cars easily with the right mounts/harness/axels/etc. i want to know if the k24a2 can be put in with the same amount of ease.
my main concern here is fitment. this engine is obviously 0.4L larger. will it still be able to make clearance under the civic hood? where does the 0.4L come from, bigger bore? bigger stroke?
i'm really interested in putting the k24a2 in mostly cuz of the higher torque and because it has a lower stock compression. that will make it more turbo friendly than the k20a with both stock bottoms.
all replies are appreciated. thanks in advance.

The TSX transmission has different mounting point,so you wouldnt be able to use the Hybrid/Hasport bracket made for the K20 transmission. You can swap for another transmission though. The passenger side mount bracket on the block/head will need to be swapped out for another one.I cannot remember if its the K20 type bracket or just another model k24.The TSX throttle body also has throttle by wire, which will need to be replaced with a K20 throttle by cable throttle body.
Im not 100% sure of the TSX wiring and wether or not a type s ecu will plug into a TSX harness, but you can swap the rsx harness onto the engine without any problems.
Im not too sure if it will clear the hood line...if you remove the inner support braces of the hood, you may come up with enough clearance.
The K24 engines use a 99mm stroke as apposed to the 86mm stroke of the k20 engines. It also has an 87mm bore, while the K20's use 86mm bore.

It will fit with some trimming. You will need a 5 speed or 6 speed RSX or EP3 tranny to use the mounts from hasport or hybrid racing. Also an extra mount needs to be bought from honda.
The only way to run this engine decent is hondata k pro.
Good luck, let us know what else you need to know,
