Default trying to make my own wiring harness

trying to make my own OBD1 to OBD2 harness, i know there cheap on some sites but i want to make it on my own. Anyone know where to get the end plugs and the pins? i would like to keep my exsisting harness in good condition. thanks

When I say $100s of dollars worth, I mean like $600 for minimum buy on one connector, $1,200 for another, etc...

The manufacturer is AMP.

Its best to get these parts from junkyards for yourself, or you can try http://www.sherco-auto.com/cg.htm

among other places. Good luck.
