you can use any (manual trans.) accord starter from 1990-to like 96....... or it might be cheaper to just take your to a rebuilder probably cost like 60-120 bux but at least its fresh....

Your best bet for a new starter is to grab one from an H23 or another H22, as well as the accord ones mentioned above. I just would suggest (and would be the cheaper route) to either contact the dude you bought it from, or purchase a new starter from a parts store (checker, autozone, etc.)

i don't have a starter but this happened to me, be sure to replace your fuses. I hear its a problem with h22s and h23s, the fuse blows and the starter keeps trying to start the motor even after the motor's running. this is exactly what happened to me. check your fuses so it doesn't happen again when you find a new starter.

Ok, I checked the fuses. I pulled the starter apart and put it back together once again. This time, it cranks the engine very slowly and smokes the whole time. The battery's full.. Theconnections are good.. It's just bad. anyone have one I can get from them for kinda cheap? I'm almost outta funds and had NO intention of getting another starter.... thanks guys!!

Dude, sounds like the power cable that goes to the starter itself is grounding out on something. That would explain the arching noise and the smoke. Also if it was grounded out it would slow the starter down and it wouldnt start the engine. Make sure that power wire isnt touching any metal that would cause an arch. Also make sure the starter ground is good.. You can check ur starter by taking it outta the car, lay it on the floor, and attach power and ground to it. Make sure to hold it still. If its good it will spin and the end shaft will shoot out like an inch or so. Check all that and let me know. Keep us posted fellow H22 dude. Rock on

Well, I tried it in the vise, and it works fine, but I can hold the gear with my hand and it won't turn, so it's definitely shot. I tested the wires n such for voltage, connectivity, shorts, etc. but they're all good. Thanks for the help though dude!! Hey, Not sure if I posted this here or not, but it wouldn't have started anyway.. They took the fuel injector/pump relay from behind the glove box!! IT WAS GONE!! where can I get one of THOSE pups??
