how much is the total cost of an h22a in a 99 civic ex going to cost me. i was thinking about buying the engine from osaka. i am in high school and play baseball, but i work when i can so money is hard to come buy. my friend's dad is going to help us swap the engine also. responses would be greatly appreciated.

first take all the mods you want to do right away, like clutch, header, intake, etc... and add them all up including the cost of the motor swap and labor, then add about 2 grand on to that, that should be a good guesstament for you.

I spent 5k on mine. 94 H22a, Place racing mounts, and shift box, 90-93 teg axles, accord intermediate shaft, chipped p13, aem itr cai,skunk2 cam gears, rsr header, dc cat back, clutch masters flywheel, act clutch, vtec controller and some aem big brakes. Other small stuff also like t-belt and water pump, thermostat, plugs, cap, etc... Everything was a little over 5k. I did all the work myself so that saved some gas. So go for it cause i love mine.

Be aware that you should also factor in a new timing belt and water pump. I have known too many people that swap motors in and forget about the timing belt or water pump. It's a good precausion that could save you lots of money in the long run.
