swapping out a final drive on tranny.....worth it???
Well, I blew out my s1 1st gen cable tranny...and the only tranny I could find was a y1 and its on the way. Since my s1 final drive is better than the y1....what do you think? Is it a lot of work? I took the s1 tranny apart after I dropped it out of my car, and doesn't seem too bad. I kinda beat it though to pull the two housings apart and I don't want to do that on my new tranny.
Any tips on taking them apart without a shovel? I know you have to undo that c-clip/ring. But is that it?
And do you think I will be able to do this without a helms manual? I've done everything listed in my sig. myself, so I feel I am some what mechanicaly inclined.
thanks
