Default Swapping in new engine: California DMV registration forms?

I'm looking to do a complete legal swap of a B16A3 into a 1995 Civic. It's my understanding that a different engine requires some kind of DMV form to be filled out so that upon registration the engine's serial number will be tied in to the car's VIN.

I searched the dmv.ca.gov website and did not find any forms for registering an engine. Does anyone know the form REG#? Thanks...

No idea man. I've never actually heard of anybody doing that before personally. Search google.

Get the motor BAR certified and you will be fine.

Bringin' back an old thread.

Just wondering if you ever found the proper dmv forms to register your new motor w/ your vehicle. I searched the CA DMV website and can't find a motor title transfer form either.

Anyone know what paperwork is needed to buy a motor out of another vehicle in CA? I've searched and several people have mentioned needing a bill of sale. I'm sure DMV has this type of form, but I can't find it.

I got my motor off craigslist with no paper work. I ran the serial number through the chp and they said it was clean. Then I took it the BAR station and it passed and he said I shouldn't have any problems with registration or police.

I <3 my new sticker
