Default swaping B16 into a Civic?

I was thinkin of getting a 96-98 civic and swapping a B16a2 complete with ECU, Tranny, etc. Is there any addition things needed or it will just fit in perfectly ?
Will it fit into any model of the civic? if not, then what, EX only?

thanks!

it will fit up almost perfectly, only real things that would need to be changed is the ecu and the wire harness, and you could use some mounts. hcp or has mounts. your gunna need costom axels and shift lincage as well but beside all that it should be straight up in any hatch newer then a 91, which means the a2 is for hydro tranny for hydro clutch, will fit in a 92-95 96-00 nicely, it will not fit in the 87-91 hatch because its a cable tranny for cable clutch. if i missed anything people let me know.

There's a lot more than simply changing the ECU and wiring harness...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and you could use some mounts. hcp or has mounts. your gunna need costom axels and shift lincage as well</TD></TR></TABLE>

B series motors are a direct bolt-in to 96-98 Civic's with the use of only OEM Honda mounts, shift linkage and axles. There is no reason or need to buy an aftermarket mount kit, linkage, or axles.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">but beside all that it should be straight up in any hatch newer then a 91 which means the a2 is for hydro tranny for hydro clutch, will fit in a 92-95 96-00 nicely, it will not fit in the 87-91 hatch because its a cable tranny for cable clutch. if i missed anything people let me know.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The 88-91 Civic's would require an EF B series mount kit and shift linkage. The new HASport EF hydro Kit allows the use of a hydro tranny in the EF chassis so a complete B16A2 swap is now possible.

ok i was close but no cigar, thanks for the info i didnt know about the hydro into a ef, i have an eg so i wasnt to sure about it bolting right into a ek like that, i thought i figured that a b16a2 is a jdm motor and it was in a sir2 which was an eg body. i thought that the only motors in ek where b16c which was the ctr motor which is why i thought you needed new mounts.

Ok, you will need, the rear engine brack, tranny bracket(or the 94-00 integra) and timing belt side motor mount from a 99-00 Civic Si. Throttle cable from a Integra LS 94-00(This is the one im using) or Type R. A wiring harness from a 96-98 civic ex(if you want it to be plug and play and not much extending of the wires).

If you want to use your existing harness, there are some plugs that wont match up. Like the Crank Fluctuation Sensor, the one for the IACV, and(I think theres one more or two)??
