Swap Starts This Weekend.... Wish me LUCK
ok well the swap will start up this weekend. just for notes.. this is what i have and what i bought .. maybe this will help in our ultimate guide for a swap.
Car: 5 Gen 96 obd2 Accord LX Four Door Automatic
H22: H22a1 96 obd2 USDM
Tranny:JDM automatic H22 Tranny
ECU: Will use the 97 Ex until tuned and running them will look for upgrade
TCU: 96 Untill this guy follows through and sends me the Prelude one
MODS: JDM cams, springs and retainers. Skunk2 Cam gears, AEM fuel Rail, AEM FPR. Others: AEM 97+ CAI, mandrel bent catback
Items bought ahead of time: went and got a gallon of coolent, a case of mobil 1, Box of Honda OEM ATF, filter, Distributor Cap, Rotor Buttons, VTR sealent for valve cover. Got 96-97 EX engine harness. Prelude Motor mounts a few i forget which ones.. all that the yard had. LOL
Future Notes: Most know i have Wiseco Pistons 8:5:1 and Crower Rods, APR bolts and Rings here. Going to get the engine in and running first. Then in two months, i ll have that Turbo kit off my buddy here. I ll run 6-8 psi and tune that. As i am doing all that. Ill be looking for a bare or short H22 block to use. I ll have that resleeved and bored and then built that up with my stuff. Then just pull and swap after the new year.
Thats all for now.. I think i have it all ready. I want new plugs, but the shop was out so i ll wait till the engine is in and ready then run to Pep Boys or somewhere.

first timers: me and a freind he did about 90% of the work. i watched helped and listened. Neither one of us know bout hondas, but he is a good mechanic freindly type person. He knows alot bout cars and he has tools out the rear.. anyways.. took 4.5-5 hrs. with no books or anything. to unhook plugs and hoist out tranny and engine. We start to mess with H22 tomorrow. Pull out was simple.. just unhook alot of stuff and i didnt unhook the A/C box thingy.. cause i didnt want it to lose pressure and pay to redo my AC. That will help. I ll pull out the Cruise control asembely tomorrow too. Weight reduction LOL
Talk to you guys later..

sat. 10 am : OH OH OH get this.. ok i mentioned before how i had that high pitched.. spooling sound when i let go of the gas petal. all the stunnas around my town thought i was boosting lol. sounded like a T3 spooling.. anywayzz... i pull out all the intake and other crap.. and guess what is sitting on the inside of my TB... the center cap of my filter!!!! The damm thing came off from the inside and went through the piping and into the TB. Thank god it was to big to get inside the TB. That would of destroyed the F22.. jeshhh

not adding in the Jdm Cams, springs and retainers
ok well it seemed that i couldnt get them replaced. my freind has done replacements in Nissans before, but called honda and they said that i needed a compressoin tool and some other kind of "special" item to pull them and get the valve springs out without them falling? So.. this will wait till the new year, when the block is resleeved and the turbo kit is added.

Well i got the wrong cam gears. seems like the ones from Importparts are for h23. i didnt notice on the box.. so thats that. i ll order a set of h22's from my distrubor in clearwater and have them in a day. they are bout 6 hrs from.

If you have an lx accord you need more than just the wiring of vtec. you ll need a downpipe that fits for the 4-2-1. i am going to a junk yard and getting a h22 downpipe and just cutting off the end to fit.. and welding a normal accord flange to fit the cat..so get a h22 downpipe with your swap guys. the lx ex. manifold is just 4-1 .. so monday i ll get one from the yard and and then just cut the end and match up the flange to the cat of the accord.
