Swap. GSR vs Type R

Swap. GSR vs Type R
I own a 99 Sedan Ex (D16Y8). I was wondering the strengths and weaknesses of both the GSR and Type R. The budget is 10-15k tops, the lower the better though honestly. I plan to supercharge whichever motor I choose, it would be my DD though so the more reliable the better.
Side question, would a s2k throttle body be compatible with either motor?
Thanks in advance,

Don't bother commenting if you're going to question the budget? I asked strengths and weaknesses of the motors not whether you believed my budget or not.

Re: Swap. GSR vs Type R
playing with your peter swapping a b series in with that budget... that budget u could swap a k20a2/z1 or k24 with k20 head for 10-15k and make way more power and the K series motors are stronger many have made 400+hp on a stock block and boost. unless your not trying to blow all your budget money id go K series. The K series motors respond to bolt on a lot better then the type R and GSR. many 240hp K series with just bolt ons... another note superchargers all need rebuilt after about 60k miles and a brand name turbo can go longer then that... Superchargers are also limited to power because of pulley size and belt slipping.... you can boost to the moon with a turbo and no belt slip to worry about... its your car do what u like

Re: Swap. GSR vs Type R
Bang verses buck = GSR
The type R is nice, but if you don't have the money, a GSR is alot less money, for almost the same power.
But since you have the money, I would buy a 98+ spec JDM type R. Type Rhas a little more power, it's a stronger motor, more RPMS, ALOT better trans( with the 4.7 FD)
