Swap done. Need some final advice
Just finished my swap, 99 B18B into 99 Civic Si (Canadian D16Y8). LS tranny, P28 ECU with JDM B18B bin #270 in pgmfi.org.
Just need to clear some things up.
1. The # of wires for the alternator are different. My D16 has 3 and the B18 has 4. I just wired them up matching the colours and ended up missing ALTC for A19 of the ECU. How to I check if my alternator is working properly?
2. My tach doesn't work. Is this a common problem or am I the only one?
All in all, the swap went well. My father in law helped me out. We had a hell of a time taking out the axle nuts! Even with a compressor it wouldn't budge. Ended up taking the whole axle and hub to a shop to have it removed.
Other minor issues were:
1. CKF sensor - extended wires and changed plug
2. Dizzy - re-pinned to OBD2b (small plug type)
3. 2nd O2 sensor hits my sway bar. Currently removed and plugged hole.
4. some *** sold me the wrong rear mount had to grab another one 1.5 hours away
Was a really good experience! A lot of the info available here was a great help!
Cheers,
P

Re: Swap done. Need some final advice (virus.EK)
Just found in Helms, CKF sensor data is used to calculate the engine speed. Gonna recheck my wiring.
