Hello everyone. I'm knew to this forum and have recieved a lot of information about LSVTEC and everyone that posted thank you. This is my question, I recently had to go LSVTEC (not my intention) because timing belt broke and I decided to change out the head with B16a head. I have stock pistons but my head is milled .30mm. I was wondering what type of compression should i be getting from this and is there a way to find out my compression ratio for this setup? I also wonder if my GSR cams help or I should return the B16a cams?

is u kept the stock pistons its not going 2 go up 2 much but u can check c-speedracing.com for a more precise ballpark

first of thank you for the information..it is what i have expected. I have one quick question because im trying to get a reading as accurate as possible. My question is how would i know piston to deck height. I have a b16a head and standard on this says that it is .020. I milled my head down .030 do i subract this from the .020 number to get the correct reading? Thank you for your help!

that's right u just click your block and it puts in deck height u just adjust 4 the head

thank you for all your help. I figured now that i have about 10.4:1 compression. With some tuning ive got this thing running decently. Thanks again

Compression sounds about right. Only thing is, you have shallow valve reliefs on your pistons. If you start to mess with the cam timing too much (especially with a milled head), the valves will start to hit the pistons. You may not hear it but when you pull your head off sometime down the road, at that time you'll see some nice groove marks on the intake side of your pistons (been there, done that).

Sure, any DOHC VTEC B-series piston (81mm) as the valve reliefs on the VTEC pistons are deeper. Depending on how much compression you want, you can go for P61 GSR pistons or get PCT CTR pistons.

u can get some p73a00 jdm itr some p30 or some p73a0 pistons all are great for n/a setup wo being 2 high fora daily driver street car
