Still using the '93 CX fuel pump for my H22A, need some fuel pump options.
It's terrible having a feeling that the engine is running lean. In fact, it probably IS running lean. The engine just doesn't feel as "strong" as my '96 Prelude VTEC's.
I did a search and some people recommend using the Integra Type-R fuel pump, or using Walboro's 255lph pump. Is it true that the Type-R fuel pump flows exactly the same amount of fuel as the Prelude VTEC? Other than modifying in a Prelude fuel pump, do I have any other choices?
What about inline fuel pumps? Are they a waste of money?
Some people say you can raise the fuel pressure to compensate for a small flowing pump, is this a good idea? Current fuel pressure setting for my H22A w/the CX fuel pump is set at 40psi (vacuum line attached).

I plan on using a Type R.
I've been told numerous times it's got the same flow rate as the Prelude VTEC.
If I don't do that, I'm going to modify a Prelude VTEC to work.

just get a walbro 255lhp
thats the only pump u'll need for the life of the car.
for any mods u do, either turbo or allmotor. (boost- unless u use a FMU setup then u'll also need an inline)
also its 99 dollars shipped. check the best buy forum.

yeah listen to what BoM said. also, your fuel pressure should be at 40 psi with the vacuum line detatched. when u connect it, it'll go down to about 30 psi.

Stock fuel pressure should be from 40 to 42 psi with line attached...

why does it say 40 psi w/line detatched in the helms? u always check fuel pressure with the vacuum line detatched.

lol think of it this way. When you attach the line up to the FPR to check it a line is attached...

don't be cheap and do it right the first time instead of trying to ***** foot around and save a few dollars, it may cost you more in the long run if you run lean and **** something up!!

Get the one for your car/application. High flow is recommended since its like 10 dollars more in most places but you get the most flow with it..

Hmm...then Walboro fuel pump it should be.
To those that have upgraded the fuel pump, is there a noticable gain in power? I guess I won't find out until I do mine.
Thanks!!!
