Default Speed governor on a JDM H22A??

I was on the freeway lastnight testing out my JDM H22A in my Integra.... hit 120mph then had fuel cut off. I wasnt sure if this was the speed governor or not. If it is can chipping the ECU take that away? If not how can I remove it??

Yes, it has a speed limiter. If you chip it, you will not have it.

does your speedo seem abit off? I know that my speedo is saying 120 but I'm really doing 105-110mph. I when I go to the track and trap @100mph my speedo says 110-115mph so I know its off by a bit. The only way Ive been able to get it accurate(somewhat) is to run a big size tire. I was running 215/45/16 Azenis and my speedo only seemed to be about 5mph off.

my speedo was off about 2-4mph hit fuel cutoff at around 118mph. chip will fix it all! stock wheel size.

fastwananbe your problem is you 214???/45/16 that wheel is just a bit bigger than stock. not much mind you but a little. 205/40/16 is almost stock size. can make all the differance in the world to a speedo. HTH

yes!!!.. all of you are correct.. i have the same problem... it says 120 when i cut off, but its really like 115-118,

and the "incorrect speedometer" is due to the probally stock civic tires u are using with the prelude speed sensor in the tranny. we need to run a larger diameter wheel/tire combo to correct the speedometer.

now a question.
if u chip ur ecu... can u still use a VAFC? or will it be irrelevent? cuz doesnt chipping the ecu do everything and more than the apexi VAFC?

if chip the ECU then you need to "reprogram" the VAFC. because the new chip will have different fuel maps from the factory ECU

unfortunately, you are right about the f&f wing...hehe

anyway, i can't belive alot of you people do not know about the pivot limiter..i will snap some pics of it and post...real easy mod to tap into vss wire on your ecu and no more little governor..hehe

brought that f&f car up to speeds of 157...with more to go...but ran out of road..shhh

Kind of off the subject a little but I have a USDM p13 and have tached out in 5th and never hit a speed limiter. I have since switched to a spoon chipped p13 and it runs sweet, best program/ecu combo I have found other than hondata!

YES the USDM has no speed limiter!!! so if you have a USDM ECU then you can just switch, but most of us don't so the chip works the best.
