Default smog check in tx sucks

ok my car is having trouble passing emmisions and I have put in the shop new cat timming 10 deg bftc fuel pressure at 35psi on a b16 crx si car still not passing all vacume lines are correct but the shop possable put the wrong o2 sensor on for a non vtec would that make any difference they say it is close to passing but 2 years ago had no [problems passing only mods sence then where new hi flow fuel rail fpr and cam gears set a o deg stock setting. any thoughts on this i am running pr3 obdo.

would running the car obd1 make a difference in emmisions and performance?

double check your timing. you should be at 16 degrees. also going obd1 would make it run cleaner.

I always set timing at the white mark. I guess you can say tdc.

usually if the crank timing and cam timing were off the car would not idle or would die out. I bet your car does not run as clean for the simple fact it is using the PR3 and it is OBD0

well i guess i am going obd1 next month but right now since i qualify for the check air texas program the car is at a certified repair station and these guys ar clules and have had my car since last thursday they have changed the cat the o2 sensor adjusted timing
fuel pressure and a couple other things to no prevale so i might just have to get a one year waver to get it up to snuff and convert over to obd1 speaking of wich would it be wise to change the header to relocate the o2 sensor for obd1 right now i have a fucuz header 4-2-1 with the o2 on the side i think is 2 and 4 .

you are running really rich. NOx would tell you how far timing is off though.

well changed o2 cat plugs and wires plus new temp switch test as follows still using the PR3 b16 in a 90 crx si
high speed results
HC std 174 me 83
CO std 1.12 me .07
NOx std 1258 me 615

Low speed results
HC std 180 me 59
CO std 1.01 me .03
NOx std 1378 me 934

so the numbers went way down so I am happy on to the next projects gsr cluster install and new suspension then obdo to obd1 conversion.

just to make sure i wont have to rewire the gsr cluster when i convert over to obd1 correct. thanks to all that hepled out HT is a great welth of knowledge.
