Which seller for B18C5?
Hey,
I have a dilemma on my hands. I am looking for a USDM B18c5 to put into my 00 civic sedan, but don't know which of the two sellers I should buy it from. Here are the pros/cons for each:
Seller #1
USDM (Don't know year yet) B18c5 - $2300 shipped
It comes with:
- LSD Hydrolic tranny
- ECU
- harnesses
- shift linkage
- AC pump
- Motor
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- All Sensors Needed
- Axles
- PS pump (no word yet)
It comes with a 60 day start up warranty. He says the mileage on the motor is approximately 10000 miles and has not been raced. He needs to get rid of it in order to make space in his warehouse for more engines he is getting from his business partner in Europe. He wants me to pay him by wire transfer to this partner and I send him my recipt of the wire transfer, then he will ship out the engine. I found this seller on eBay and am dealing with him outside of eBay. From his records on eBay he has a 98.2% feedback. I don't know how trustworthy he is or if he runs a legit business. Here are some pictures he sent me:
Seller #2
USDM 00 B18c5 - $2650 shipped
- Motor
- Hydrolic Tranny
- ECU
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Engine Harness
- All Sensors Needed
- Axles
- shift linkage
He also offers a 60 day start up warranty. The engine has not been raced and he assures me the engine has been treated good by the owner of the ITR. It has exactly 18,734.9 miles on it. It is completely stock. The B18c5 came from an ITR that was totaled from the rear. He said he'll throw in a PS pump and an AC pump if I want it, which I do. This seller put this engine on a ground dyno, but he hasn't sent me the charts, nor any pictures of the engine yet. I also found this seller on eBay, but this one has the engine up for auction, so heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT Please don't screw me and bid on the engine! He has one picture of the engine on his auction, but i'm trying to get more. I don't know what kind of business he has either, so i'm kind of lost!
So please help me decide which engine I should get from which seller!!! Thanks for reading my long post

Re: Which seller for B18C5? (taqman15)
in retrospect, I bet its a scam
do you seriously think you can get it for that cheap AND have it dyno at 274 hp and 123 ft lb?
what magical dyno did that guy use?
and P.S. that guy has zero feedback

Re: Which seller for B18C5? (ICU)
If he's close enough, pick up and check out the engine.
or
Confirm if the first seller(98%) feedbacks are good with some of the buyer's that bought engine from previous auctions.
E-mail them and ask if they have a good experience or not.

Well, just because someone doesn't have any feedback on eBay doesn't mean they don't know how to do business...

Yeah I just did that and just waiting for his reply. His business is located in PA so I can't check it out in person.

roflmao. Hmotorsonline has never steered me wrong. The swap I received wasn't perfect, but it was used, so i didn't expect it to be.

Re: Which seller for B18C5? (ICU)
dont do it i know someone who sent money to london to buy a brand new gsxr 600 for 2700 shipped, great price, but no bike and never heard from the guy again. then i heard of people selling those drag turbo kits on ebay for 1200-1500 on ebay from london with no feedback, the only safe way to do this is by sending the money by american express because they have this 45 day saftey thing where if you dont get the money u report them and its like an insurance thing for u, but dont use ur credit card to buy a western union money order, SCAM
