Default San Diego people wanna help me out?

i just got done with my lsvtec a few days ago. I torqued everytyhing down and checked everything in the short block. Its pretty much all stock, nothing extreme at all. I put all the wiring on (might be where i fubared it up?) and all the fluids. The part that killed me the most was the timing, i put it on right enough that it starts and runs. But when i start the motor it shoots up to 6k rpm and stays there and makes the most scariest noise ever (metal hitting, sounds like something broke off inside of the block.) I even let the engine turn over with the distributor unplugged so that some oil can get pumped through the engine. Weird thing is that when i turn the engine over, it sounds fine, no hitting noise. Its only when the engine actually starts and runs that it makes that noise. This is my first engine i have ever built and i'm kind of in over my head. Any good San Diego engine builders want to come and take a look and help me fix my prob? I'll buy us some Lil' Caesers pizza if we get it fixed. Thanks.
