S Spec H22 CIVIC SWAP
ever wondered what it would be like to put a Type S or SH in ur civic? well we all hnow you cant because of the difference in block design for the ATTS. well imma about to find out, i happend to have own the very rear 1999 BB6 S Spec prelude, which is the equivalent to the type S only with a LSD tranny(m2z4). unfortunately i hit the car and the chassis got damage so im puting the engine into a 98 civic coupe
no i took the lude to the trck(1320) a few time and and i ra prety impressive best time 14.5 with a consistant 14.6-14.7 and this is with a bone stock motor and a VAFC. so i was just wondering what time do u think i may be looking at with the swap. ?

the reason the sh tranny sucks is because its a electroniclly controlled lsd which sucks its not a lsd its a Active Torque Transfer System. ATTS is a completely new technology that uses electronics and hydraulics to transfer driven-wheel torque for maximum traction and optimal steering response.

14.0 damn well i hope i'll get a better time than that, i did 14.5 when it was in the lude and that was on some heavy 17's on 205 40 tires w/ 30 psi.

Re: S Spec H22 CIVIC SWAP
and your point is?? all i am gonna say is tuning is the key.. u can swap the prelude engine but you can't use your stock ecu unless you want check engine light, but if u get a check engine light, your car won't run as strong.. hopefully u get what i am trying to tell you.. cause when u swap ur engine to another chassis, its a whole new ball park... noOB..

Re: S Spec H22 CIVIC SWAP
well sir u are correct the type sh tranny does suck but if u noticed i said i have a JDM S Spec prelude not a sh or type S. to clarify, the S Spec prelude does not come with ATTS but with a LSD tranny. it does however comes with the same specifications as a JDM type S ,wich is 220ps which translate to about 215-217 HP with 163ft tq, 11.0-1 compression ration ect. which is the asme as a jdm Euro R accord. in other words it JDM type S with LSD instead of ATTS. that is why i gave the tranny cone (M2Z4)

Re: S Spec H22 CIVIC SWAP
thats my dad i guess, what i was trying to say is that im gonna put a motor in with the same specs in my civic. i read somewhere that type s and sh have a slightly different block design due to the ATTS which makes the swap difficult.
