A properly functioning TPS sensor is vital for the car to run properly. It will cause idle problems and very bad throttle response. This could be part of the problem, but if the car is running that rich, sounds to me like a fuel delivery problem which could be electrical, mechanical or both. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Definitely check your fuel pressure and jump your test connector to see what all CEL's are stored.

Since the car is smoking so bad, it's very possible that you have a blown or close to blown head gasket. White smoke means that coolant is burning in the combustion chamber which in turn can foul the air/fuel mixture, no to mention it could hydrolock the motor. You definitely have some issues that shouldn't be overlooked.
