Red Permatex causing my B2/Z6 mini me swap coolant leak?
Over the last month I completed a mini me swap with a D16Z6 head on a D15B2 block. For the most part, the swap went without any significant instances. However, my new head gasket is leaking coolant in copious amounts. I used a new metal 3-layer Felpro D16Y8 head gasket which I smothered with Red High Temp Permatex and D15B2 head bolts which I torqued two different ways. First, I torqued them to 22 lb.-ft., then 53 lb.-ft. The D16Z6 torque specs. I even remembered the torque sequence:
8 6 2 4 10
9 3 1 5 7
After that didn't work, I removed them and retorqued them to 27 lb.-ft. then 58 lb.-ft. Still pouring coolant out the exhaust. This is the first time I replaced a head gasket without help or supervision. After doing some reading I see everybody using either nothing or copper spray. Is the Red Permatex where I went wrong?
Also I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong section. I also tried searching and clicked endless links to no avail. This is my DD so I figured maybe you guys wouldn't mind helping me out or pointing me to a proper link I may have overlooked.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Btw this is in a 1988 Honda Civic LX which is also successfully MPFI swapped with a D16A6 intake that has an aftermarket Gude Performance throttle body bolted on if that information is pertinent.

Thank you so much for your reply, paying a buddy to help me clean up the huge mess I caused. I've changed a head gasket before so I don't know what I was thinking. I'll post back the final outcome just in case it turns out to be anything else. Thanks again!

I finally got around to fixing this. It turned out I had mistakenly plugged a coolant hose into the intake manifold. It was quite apparent when I pulled my cai off and coolant poured out lol. I corrected that problem a few days ago and cleaned up all that Permatex and now my first mini me should be ready to ride after I get a jump (dead battery). Muy excited :D thanks for the reply again!
