Default recomended super quiet (stock almost)exhaust for b20vtec.....

I currently have stock gsr exhaust on my b20-vtec set up an I know it can breathe better with new exhaust, but I would hate to lose sounding like a stock car,esp in california. Is there a way run stock muffler with bigger piping or anything else you can recomend for me? Thank you.

one of my friends in cali with a prelude, ran 2.5" piping from the cat to the stock muffler. Performance was noticeable, increase in noise was very small.

A very cost effective setup is a Summit oval turbo muffler 2 1/2" in / out - only $20 and they work really well. They are very similar in design and size as the ES tuning except they are baffled instead of straight through. I have a offset in / center out with custom 2 1/2" piping on my 98 DX hatch. It looks very sleeper, close to stock except the tone is more deep but not loud at all. I have an ES oval on my 92 VX and it's significantly louder. I've used the Summit on 3 other cars I've owned (all EF's) which also fit really well and look stock.
