Radiator fan not coming on.
Hey guys. Now that the car runs the radiator fan is not coming on. I switched to a bigger Koyo radiator. 2000 b16a2 into a 97 dx. I used the 2000 si ecu and wiring harness. Stock fan. Rewired dash to use 2000 ecu. Exhaust temps climbed to around 221 before I turned the car off.
Any ideas??

i think i rewired my green plug. I'm using the 00' SI ecu and harness as well for my Lsvtec.
also check and see if your reverse lights work. I never found out about it until a month after my swap. a little rewiring will fix this.
A better route is to use a conversion harness for 96-98 into 99-00.

Already did all the rewiring. Everything works (I think ) except my dome light.
I will look into that wiring problem. I am going to put 12 volts to it, and see if it turns.

Re: Radiator fan not coming on. (NCHATCH)
are you overheating?
if you arent dont worry.
it takes about 20 minuets of idle to get the fan to turn on.
if the car IS overheating at idle, give the fan a 12v power source (MAKE SURE THE FAN HAS A GROUND ATTACHED OR IT WONT WORK!) and it should turn on. if it dosent
remove the 2 coolant temp sensors and test them for resistance between the plugs, if there is 0 ohms between one of them, its bad. make sure you only test them one at a time.

Re: Radiator fan not coming on. (Kamin)
Temp shot up to 243 F when driving on a 55 degree day with a mist/rain in the air. The only thing I am coming up with now is that coolant is not flowing through my new radiator. I am going to take it off, and run some water through it tomorrow to see if that is it. I will test the fan at the same time.
