Quick Question About Motor Swap, Need Opinions!
Im kinda in a little Delima, I want to buy a swap for my hatch (95 Civic Cx Hatchback) and Need some help on which motor to buy, Im on a tight budget and only have about 2.500 to spend. Thats where u guys come in, Should I Buy:
A. B16A (XSI) http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30003
B. B16A (SiR2) http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30005
What are the differnces between the two B16's???
Is there any other things I would need for the swap other then what hmotor is giving me?)?
or should I try to get more money and go GSR?
Im pretty confused here and cant make my mind up!
I apprecieate Anyone who helps me out!
If I do get the siR2 which tranny should I go with?
Thanks GUYS

I say either build a stroked LS/VTEC or go B20VTEC!!
Where at in The Burgh are you from? I could help you with your build if you want.

If you only have 2500 total for the swap, I would say plan carefully and make sure you have extra for the little things that are forgotten sometimes. Timing belt, water pump replacement, new plugs, belts... Etc. Now would be a great time for a flywheel and clutch upgrade while the motor is out. I wish I had gotten a flywheel while I was replacing the clutch. But, like you, I was on a budget!

I have less than 1500 in my ls swap but it took a while to piece together. You can plan on spending @4-500 in random expenses after the swap, god help you if you have problems with any cels. The ls has alot more torque than a b16 as mentioned before, but if your a vtec feind you might aswell go with it because some people just are not happy with out their vtec fix. just remember hp #'s are good to have but if you don't have any torque with it, it's just going to be a noise maker
