Default Question regarding short shifters in hybrids...

...from what I have heard, short shifters aren't the greatest in swapped cars, atleast EH2's with DOHC swaps. I have a JDM GS-R in my 1995 CX hatchback, I want to get the Circuit Hero shift level extender, but think it is going to be fairly wierd with a stock throw. I personally like the stock throw for racing, but a shorter one won't hurt. Anyways, I was wondering who has short throw shifters in their hatchbacks that do not hit the linkage. I know that my friend has one, I think it is a B&M and it hits in fourth. Thanks in advanced.

when you say hit the linkage, what do you mean? i'm unaware of that problem with B&M...

if you are talking about the counterweight end of the linkage, you can always bend that out a little bit....

I am not 100%, I've never personally experienced the problem, but something with the short shifter does no go good with the linkage setup, and I've heard of the problem before with it.

hmm. i use an ITR linkage which is the same as what you'd use with a b18c and my B&M straight stick shifter has no problems whatsoever.

What kind of car is it in and what motor? I may have to just buy a short shifter and try it out and if that doesn't work try ITR linkage. Then if that doesn't work just go back to stock.

And should I get a short shifter for a Civic or an Integra?

ek with b18c, but shouldn't be a problem for you regardless. b&m offers the same p/n's for both vehicles, so it's up to you if you want a bend or straight stick as they offer both i believe...

yeah i def think you'll be fine ; )

the b&m doesn't offer an overly aggressive (read: safe) throw reduction
