Puck style clutch??
Getting as a trade; Xtreme PP with 6 puck metal with no springs. Seeing that I have no money and need a clutch really bad, Anybody drive this setup on the street? I am expecting an On/Off kind of engagement from this, but (from those who have it on their street cars) How bad is it really? Can it be slipped enough to be drivable in traffic? What about noise?

Re: Puck style clutch?? (carblegal)
I personally don't like puck clutches except on race cars. Truthfully, without a lsd I really don't recommend it. I have seen a lot of crazy **** happen to bolts, mounts, etc from hard *** shifting with a puck clutch without an lsd. There is some chatter, but driving in a lot of traffic definitely won't be fun. I am running an ACT extreme pressure plate with the performance organic disc and love it. It grabs hard as hell and hold very well.

Re: Puck style clutch?? (Kamin)
You really have to get used to driving with a 6 puck. At first, I would stall at every other stoplight. *Having an 8lb flywheel doesn't help either * But after learning how to slip it, it works pretty good. Grip is excellent, but there's some chatter on cold mornings.
Get it if you have the HP. Otherwise, a full faced disc is easier on your tranny and legs.

Re: Puck style clutch?? (98CTRCoupe)
I bought my hatch with a 6puck on stock PP and lightened stock flywheel. It grabs hard, but there is no play at all in the clutch. Like you said, it feels like on/off. I'm going to get a good street clutch after this one wears out.
