The wiring depends on what ecu you use A p28 is the easiest, you just need a obd 0 to obd 1 adapter and just wire your appropriate sensors for what ever ecu you decide to use and you should strip your harness down and extend all your wires that need extended like alternator etc. then fit it to the engine and then loom it and tape it back up.The wiring is the easy part on this swap, properly aligning the engine in the engine bay and fabbing the mounts and clearencing the chassis are the hardest part of this swap. As far as those mount that where purchased for this swap I would only use the polyurethane bushings and get your own material and make your own mounts it would be much easier than trying to make those work. The axles are just 90-93 integra axles and A 90-93 accord intermediate shaft. Modified by dragline at 8:15 PM 5/18/2005 |

Re: (dragline)
May 22- I will be riping out the stock 1.5L d15b today after work. I will take a few pix. I'll pressure wash the bay out and then Monday test fits will begin when I get off from work. I got some new 90-93 teg axles so either way they are going to fit whether they like it or not. I found a few places to do the obd0-obd1 wirring for good price. So that will be one less headache for me. So this project is definetly full force! no stand stills here!!! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
|
Just wondering, but, are you just speculating that the teg axles will fit, or have you kinda test fit them in there? Do you expect to have to modify them to fit? Are you gonna just move the motor around till the are positioned right? Just curious....

Re: (canis)
May 24-Here is what you get in about 2.5 hours of work...got the complete engine and all BS and AC shit out, fitted the custom traction bar system and installed the complete integra front arms. So the fun begins, test fits and motor mounts! Mounts should be made by sometime next week and should have everything fitted for the final by the end of that following weekend. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (Hotori Hanso)
May 27- I got the H deuce in for test fitments. Axles are hooked up! 90-93 integra is what I used. But it is very tight. On the driver side there is about 1/2 inch or so before the bottom ball joint will hook up. I am still playing around with it and will be doing a lot of playing around. But I havent cut into the passenger side wheel well yet which looks to me to be a must. At this point all motor mount brackets will have to be custom. There seems to be a lot of room near the rear crossmember so i dont think I will need to notch it. The engine will need to be moved over about an inch to the passenger side. To do that the wheel well needs to be cut. There is a lot of work to be done alot more test fits!!! Please any advice would be great...

Re: (brandond)
May 30- I got the engine all mocked up and is sitting in its final postion. 90-93 teg axles will work but not without extensive modification. The driver side axle is about 1/2" too long and if I force it, it will go toc toc like "my slow crx" and rip the bottom ball joint apart and fuck my fender up like "my slow crx". So custom axles will be made plus I can sit my engine more less where i want it. The key is to get the engine as far back and as high as you can get it and make sure axle alignment is decent. I will still be using the accord midshaft F series. Just making custom teg axles to fit my desired spline to spline distance. Motor mounts arent going to be all that hard to make. The only mount bracket I am keeping is the driver side because it will work. I will be making a duplicate set of the motor mounts and the cable to hydro conv. bracket if anyone is interested. So this week for sure I'll have the motor mounts done and possibly the clutch cable bracket. Axles will be my last worry since they will be custom. Below are pictures of the final mock up. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (ExplicitSpeed360)
really nice to see someone going about this swap...once i can find a decently cheap crx, and then i save up for the motor and everything i will be doing this swap
people like to down play the h series into a crx or 4th gen civic but its an amazing swap and numbers have proven it to hit high 12's in stock form in a crx now ur last picture shows a little bit of the engine stick up over the fender? is that cuz u planned to have it like that or what?u could always get teh sir hood with the raise in it and us ethat but i guess u planned on having it higher cuz from what i understand most people who do this swap have trouble with the engien sitting too low |
Re: (hondapride59)
Ill have more pix up soon just dont have much space left. Far as the motor it is sittin directly even with the top of the fender the angle of the pic isnt too good.

Re: (ExplicitSpeed360)
We mounted ours slightly high and used the SiR hood. We also moved it back a little more, the fire wall had to be dented for clearance.

Re: (brian g)
damn dude, are what radiator are you going to be using??? and are you worried about the motor under hard revs hit the hood??
