Doesn't the Lude ECU have EGR **** in it??? I don't think you would want that unless the chip bypasses all of it, in which case i guess it would work... Personally I would just sell the lude and get a P72 if you want the IAB control or a chipped P28 if you don't care.... Latez

You would definately need a chip and maybe an injector resistor pack? I know that preludes use the low resistance injectors and the ECU is designed to work with 340cc injectors, not the 270's found in B18C's. I assume we are talking about OBD I ECU's as well? The 97+ prelude ECU's had immobilizers which are fairly difficult to work around.
I agree with whoever said sell it for a P72. I think the P72's fuel cutoff and redline is higher as well.

they tested a gsr ecu and a prelude ecu for a prelude swap and the gsr ecu gained more ...... so a prelude ecu will just be downgrading

Prelude ecu's can't be chipped really, the blank chips for them are very hard to find/use, and there are few programs that can modify it's code. For instance, not even Hondata can use P13 OBD1 prelude ecus for Hondata, we have to use a P72. A p72 is a much more chip-able ecu. Stick with it. Plus p13/p5p has an EGR like the other guy said and will put your car in safe mode, and the lower redline...but you'd have to change it all.

Just get a p13 and run a V-AFC....
Then dyno tune to lean out your fuel a fair buit and lower your vtec engagement. But you'll still have a fuel cut of 7700 on a p13. Doesn't a B18C1 redline at 8000?
It's an interim solution..

And with a P13 on a C1, VTEC engagement is way too low on a P72 for the motor...and for P13, the stock engagement is 5200 RPM, which is decent for a C1.
As well as the secondaries open before VTEC on the P13 and the P72 engaging VTEC first.

It's an interim solution..just a note bro, egr code does not put you in safe mode. and stock rev limitor on a p13 is 7800.
And I've seen 7700 on V-AFCs so that's where I took my info from, not the tach or anything.
