Re: Pics of the h22 swap, 1/8 mile times, and VIDEOS! (LudeSH)
Nice pics and vids. I am swapping an H22 into my 93' as well. I am using the hcp kit and doing all the work myself. Is there any tips you can give me or suggestions. I have done most of my friends b series swap in to ef's and multiple eg's but this is the first h series swap i am doing. I am really confused on the wiring and the resitor box and secondary set up. I plan to run a p28 (chipped of course). Please give me your thoughts on the swap. What was your 1/4 time it didn't show in the vid?

My number one tip is to put the engine in from the bottom...its a pain in the arse from the top...use an ex harness, extend o2 sensor wiring, extend alternator wiring, dont worry about knock or egr kuz the p28 doesnt look for it. As for the resister box go to hondata.com, its pretty straight foward how to do...O and mount the engine harness b4 putting the engine in. good luck!
edit: you cant run the secondaries with the p28, i ran mine off of one of the vacum ports on the side of the manifold. |

Yes you sure can. I am with my chipped p28. |

how are you running the secondaries without doing it by vacum or an rpm activated switch...im running a mugen chipped p28 and it isnt programmed for butterflies http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

ludesh, how are running them off of a vacum port? I thought they only open past a certain throttle percentage? Thanks for the info on the resitor and wiring. Everything else basically plugs in huh? Cool. You didn't have any trouble with the shift cable and bracket set up did you?
Also Audofuct , What program are you using so that opens your secondaries up with the p28? I would like to go the route you used. |
Re: Pics of the h22 swap, 1/8 mile times, and VIDEOS! (hondaguyef)
I ran a hose from the little gold round thing that opens the butterflies to one of the vacum ports on the side of the manifold...At idle or normal street driving the vacum keeps them closed for your low end torque...At WOT there is little to no vacum causing the butterflies to open...There is NO program that will allow you to use secondaries with a p28....Only the p72 and p13...

Re: Pics of the h22 swap, 1/8 mile times, and VIDEOS! (LudeSH)
Would it be possible to use an aftermarket intake manifold and totally bypass the secondaries like you can with the GSR's I mean I don't see why not but, like I said totally new to the H series.

Yes u can buy an aftermarket IM that does away with secondaries. Or u can take the butterflies out yourself, just remove the plate between the top and bottom part of the IM.
