People that've swapped B16's into EG's...
Is there anything that you can suggest I do before I actually put my motor in the car, like mounts and etc?
I've already had it suggested that I rebuild the axles since they're coming from an SiR... but like, anything you wish you had done before actually installing the motor that might be helpful for me...
Thanks in advance,
Chris

clean the engine bay, put in polyurethane motor mount insert. b/c you can't put the rear in with the motor in the car.

you're right on with the axles, I experienced that very same problem. Know your wiring diagrams, SiR will require some movement of harness(RHD to LHD), if you know what you're doing it really is an easy swap...or atleast straight forward. The little stuff always consumes the most time, consider clutch install while the motor is out...
Plan on a two day job, that way you don't sstress on time

I agree with all the suggestions above, and clean the engine bay while you can. go ahead and change the timing belt and water pump if you like while the engine is out and easy to access, as well as any hoses- i.e. heater and radiator. Other than that, clean up the motor and drop that bad boy in.

Timming belt, water pump, clutch, front and rear main seals.
Might want to turn the oil filter to see if it comes out or not. Or better put in the new oil filter and don't forget to change the transmission oil.

You don't need to rebuild the axles necessarily. Not all of the ones i've gotten have been bad. If its torn however, rebuild it. Do as the others said. Replace the timing belt, alternator belt, water pump, clutch and PP, new spark plugs and wires, new filter. Also get a U.S. engine harness. You can't use the JDM one. Or you can just use the civic harness off your old motor. Easier to install the harness on the engine outside of the car. Its up to you on the engine mount inserts, if its a daily driver commuter don't bother. If you want to race, go ahead and get em. BTW it can be installed with the motor in the car, however its a bitch. I did it once, and never want to do it again. I also had to use a engine hoist to hold the engine up.
