Paying for a swap??

Paying for a swap??
So I have a 98 ex I just bought it runs great but has some issues and I'm getting kinda sick of it. I've been thru a few civics now and I just want a nice clean reliable civic. Now a fresh motor replacement for my 98 4 Dr (d16y7) estimated about $3k for used 30000 mile motor or $4k for brand new d16y7 (aka a piece of ****). Could someone please tell me if its common to find an import shop and they could swap a gsr motor in it around what price with labor? I want a reliable older civic but it's gotta be quick of course.. I guess what I'm basically asking is do shops do motor swaps? Especially since Honda swaps aren't really horrible would an import shop do that and would I be paying for a well performing reliable motor? Thanks guys..

Plenty of shops can and will do this, just do plenty of research and find a reputable one to go with. That's the most important part, find a shop that's done these swaps many times before and has the results to back it up.
A GSR swap including the cost of the labor should only cost $5K-$6K probably too if I had to guesstimate. Most skilled import shops can do a D->B swap in only a day or less.
