theres a usdm and a jdm. The jdm is refered to as a small box. So having said that the jdm p30 will be a lot smaller in size that then the usdm. Check out the pic.

Yup... small box is JDM, large/regular sized box is US. Only problem with the JDM P30 ECUs is that only the AUTO P30 can be chipped.... the 5-spd P30 can't be chipped (which is why I have like 3 extra ones that I can't sell 
). The US P30 can also be chipped no problem.

So you are saying the JDM P30 manual cannot be chipped yes?

you should run a p73. All you need is to get a jumper harness from joe at hasport. It will allow you to connect an obd-2 ecu (p73) into your obd-1 car. the web site is locashracing.com its $258.00

really Newman? I never had any problems with reprogramming JDM MT P30 ecu's.

The P30 ecu can be JDM or US. US version is regular size, JDM verson (already said) has a small type casing. If you need your JDM P30 ecu reprogrammed one day, hit me up I can reprogram any OBD1 P30 ecu (jdm or us).
