Options to consider Swap for my EK
Hello all,
I have finally got my EK hatch to the point i feel it worth to do a swap. Looking for some advice on a motor, i have a couple locally i have been considering, looking for advice on what might seem a better buy?
Option 1: B18C1
B18C1 fully rebuilt for sale. Motor is still in car and can be seen running. New NPR pistons and rings. New OEM bearings from Honda so they are color matched for size. New MLS head gasket with ARP head studs. Milled head with new valves, valve guides, and seals. New gaskets everywhere. New distributor, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. New clutch, pressure plate, 8Lbs. ACT flywheel and release bearing. Burns absolutely nothing even in the high RPM's. All parts mentioned have less then 1000km on them.
Looking for $2500 obo.
Option 2:B16A3 with a JDM s21 transmission
120,000 KM's, OBD1 (I would need conversion harness) full swap comes with ecu, harness, axles etc.
$1500 Firm
I'm not the most experienced when it comes to building a motor, does option 1 sound like a good deal? Sounds like it has quite a bit of work done for the rebuild, and is basically just broken in. Im going to check it out Sunday, anything i should be looking for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Car it's going into!

Re: Options to consider Swap for my EK
if the GSR option comes with a transmission, then thats what i would buy. B16s are awesome engines but i feel like they are kinda low on torque for anything heavier than 2000 lbs. GSR engine with B16 transmission would be ideal IMO
