Default Ok WEIRD O2 question on b16 swap

I am putting a b16a (jdm) in my 88 Civic. My Question is, my header that i bought has a place for 1 o2 sensor plug on it. my ecu requires 2. I asked the guy who sold me the header and he told me that i should take it down to my local muffler shop and have another one put in, But where should i put the second o2 sensor? The existing one is 2 inches from the end of the header on top. Also which sensor do i put where?

I'm guessing that since your ecu requires 2 O2 sensors it is OBD 2. The 2 O2's are for a more exact exhaust gas reading. To measure a reading before and after the catalytic converter. One O2 sensor should go in the hole in the header, and the other O2 sensor should go into the cat, either high flow or stock. Sometimes though high flow race converters don't make enough change (i.e. burning up unburned gasses) and you will get a check engine light. But how many times have you heard of a race car using a converter. I think if you use your stock converter , or just get one of those "higher" flow ones that I see in sport compact car/ super street , or what ever.... you will be fine.

just plug one into the header , and the other into the cat.
Not sure which goes where, but just trying swapping it if one way doesn't work.

I think the guy is referring to the older 1st generation B16's that used 2 single wire, non-heated O2 sensors up near the head on the exhaust manifold. That is OBDO. If he has a PWO or PR3 ecu, the signals are at C8 and C16

Try to stick with the original exhaust manifold. The Honda B series manifolds arent too bad. The majority of my B16 swaps in Civic/CRX still use the OEM exhaust manifold with downpipe. The money can be spent elsewhere.

On one customers B16a CRX I did with stock everything, just Cold air intake, stock exhaust system even, pulled 14.3 at the track.

The current B16 (first gen) CRX that I drag now just pulled 13.3 @ 104 mph at RockFalls Raceway (Wisconsin) this past Sunday.

Stock internals, stock exhaust manifold, stock mid section exhaust, and a ZEX 65 shot.

I run mid 14's consistantly with no 65 shot.

My 91 CRX (that is still in the making) I havent decided yet what to go with.

B20/Vtec? Maybe GSR?
