Ok... might possibly be getting a H22 Monday theres only one problem...
Ok guys I have the opportunity to buy the motor from my friend's 01 Prelude. The engine only has 15k on it but the thing is, he "seized" it. I beleive he said he drained the coolant and forgot to put it back in and cranked the motor.
The dealership told him he screwed a piston and a rod up, so I figure I can just get new pistons/seals/pins everything to take care of that.
I'm wondering, what else should I fix/look at to get this bad boy running? Like would a complete rebuild be necessary? And do you think it would be worth it?
I think it will be I just want to know what Im getting myself into.
I posted this in Accord forum and did a search.

I'm going to get more information as to what exactly is wrong w/ it and how much it's going to cost on Monday, I'll post all the info.

IMO, i think it will be more in the long run doing it this way, just get a motor you know is good, and that starts already and runs, might be alittle bit more now, but could save you in the long run. just what i think

Try to leave him let you tear it down before you buy it so you know what you are getting into i mean if the crank is f-ed then the overall project might get kinda spendy you know? Other wise a full rebuild would be wise some pistons rods and bearings and don't forget to get it balanced and what not. Also does it include the tranny?
